Timothy J. Dass principally specialises in Intellectual Property Law. He is recognised as an IP expert with more than a decade of experience in the field. A registered Trade Mark Agent, his core practice centres on trademark, copyright, industrial design and patent law, where he routinely advises and represents clients in complex contentious and non-contentious matters. He has represented a variety of clients ranging from small medium entities to large international corporate entities on a number of high value disputes, counterfeiting, domain name disputes, appeals against the Registrar’s refusal to Court and consumer protection. He has appeared as lead counsel in precedent-setting matters before both the Court of Appeal and the Federal Court, where he has successfully advanced novel arguments in high-stakes Intellectual Property litigation. His advocacy is complemented by a pragmatic and commercially attuned approach to dispute resolution, including mediation and negotiated settlements.

In addition to his expertise in Intellectual Property, He has acted as lead counsel in general civil disputes, notably in the areas of breach of contract, construction, defamation and employment law.
